The mural project has a flat fee of $4,250 to cover teach time, materials and creation of the mural mock up.

The mural painting itself is priced based on the square footage of your wall. On average, the murals cost $8,000 - $12,000.

My goal is for the project to be completed within two weeks. The first week is for classroom workshops. I then spend 2-3 days reviewing student drawings and combining them into the site-specific mural map. Once that design is approved, I spend 4-5 days painting.

Each school provides a primary point person (a teacher, principal or parent volunteer), access to the approved wall, help coordinating the classroom schedule, and any necessary school or district approvals.

I choose art based on themes. Did a lot of students draw your mascot? I’ll try to include various versions. Ultimately my goal is to include as many drawings as possible and to make sure each classroom is represented.

While the students do contribute their ideas and original drawings during the classroom workshop, they do not paint the final mural. I combine their drawings into one cohesive mural design and professionally paint the finished piece myself. This gives students meaningful creative ownership while ensuring a polished, long-lasting result.

Yes. Adult volunteers can participate. Getting your community involved does expedite the project. It’s also a great way to expose volunteers to the great work being done at your school and the big, beautiful ideas of your students. If this is something you want to pursue we should discuss it while putting together our initial ideas and plans for the project.

My process can be adapted to include multiple grades, classrooms, or an entire elementary school. I work with your school’s point person to create a classroom schedule that allows each participating group to contribute without disrupting the school day.

Yes. I create both interior and exterior school murals. The condition, surface, dimensions, and location of the wall are reviewed before the proposal is finalized so I can recommend the appropriate materials and preparation.

Yes. After reviewing the student drawings, I create a cohesive mural mockup , that I call a “mural map,” for your selected wall. Your school team reviews and approves the design before it is transferred to the wall and painting begins. This process does require a quick turnaround to keep the project on track.

No problem! I’ll work with your teachers and staff to create a schedule where I can visit classrooms individually. I have plenty of experience working both with or without an art teacher. The key to the project being successful is having a point person at school that serves as my connection. I do my best to keep the lesson short and organized so we don’t disrupt teachers’ daily schedules and student routines.

Project dates are reserved after the schedule and budget have been approved and the required contract and initial payment have been received. To officially reserved mural project dates, I ask for a 25% deposit. Because each project requires classroom and painting time, schools are encouraged to begin planning several months in advance.

School murals may be funded through PTO or PTA budgets, school foundations, arts and education funds, grants, individual donors, local businesses, or corporate community partners. Some projects combine more than one funding source. I’m happy to work with your school to develop funding ideas. I want to serve as many schools as I can.
